The showroom becomes a shelter for the homeless.
Social sculpture without people. Intervention without intrusion.

Tanja Boukal has spent a significant amount of time with the homeless people she photographed for Schöner Wohnen on Vienna's Karlsplatz, gaining insight into their daily lives.

The security and warmth that the hand-knitted Kaschmir blankets suggest are created by the people portrayed through rituals with which they create a piece of home in the public space.
