Over six nights, five red beams of light link Lampedusa’s tourist heart with one of its most politically charged sites. La Via dell’Altro turns the night sky into a space for encounters, conversations and shared reflection on hospitality, borders and who gets to feel safe.

La Via dell’Altro is a temporary light installation that links the tourist heart of Lampedusa with one of its most politically charged sites. Five narrow beams of red light form an arc between Via Roma and Molo Favaloro, making visible the uncomfortable closeness between holiday leisure and dangerous sea crossings. Over six nights, the installation becomes a space for encounters, conversation, and shared reflection on hospitality and borders.

La Via dell’Altro is part of Hospitium – The Lampedusa Project and takes place within Agrigento Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2025.
